Traffic Division
If you have received a traffic citation, you may email the Macon County State's Attorney's Office's traffic division to receive an offer.
Please email traffic@sa-macon-il.us with your full name, date of birth, the date you received the ticket and what the ticket was for. An assistant state's attorney will reach out to you with an offer that you may print out and bring with you to your court date. Please note that it may be several days before you receive a response from the State's Attorney's Office.
(UPDATE - January 27, 2023)
The State's Attorney's Office has resumed offering traffic walk-in hours. Walk-ins will be seen every Thursday from 1 to 2:30 pm. At traffic walk-ins, an assistant state's attorney will talk to drivers and make them an offer based on their ticket. Traffic walk-in hours are only for those charged with minor traffic offenses. Persons charged with DUIs or criminal misdemeanor or felony cases will have to go to court and go through the court process.
Please note that walk-in hours are not trials - prosecutors will make offers and discuss available options, but if someone wants to fight their ticket, they will need to do so in court before a judge or jury.
Traffic walk-ins are handled on a first come, first served basis. No appointment is necessary. Anyone wanting to be seen should arrive by 2:15 pm to check in.
