Zacharias Rager Sentenced to 21 years for Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault

Macon County State’s Attorney Jay Scott announced today that Zacharias J. Rager, 31, of Decatur, has been sentenced to 21 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections for the crime of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a Child.  Rager was sentenced on March 26, 2015 by Circuit Judge Timothy Steadman.   


Rager entered a plea of guilty as charged to an act of sexual penetration with a child who was under the age of 13 years.  The case was investigated by the Decatur Police Department, and was prosecuted by Assistant State’s Attorney Diane Couri.  


Rager will have to serve 85% of the sentence before he is eligible for parole.
